Some couples know from the beginning where they want to celebrate their wedding. But most will consider a variety of venues before picking one. Admittedly selecting a wedding party venue is crucial in your wedding planning process. Especially if you are planning a destination wedding in Greece and you need to factor in even more things. But rest assured that you can handle this successfully with a little bit of preparation. When you set off to pick the venue, you should have a clear idea of budget (how much you want to spend on the venue), guests (how many you will invite to the party), type (are you planning a seated dinner or a cocktail party?) and style (what feeling you are going for – romantic, elegant, unconventional?). If you have your mind set on these four things, then you are ready to start vetting wedding venues in Greece.

Tip #1

Greece is a beautiful country and there are so many alternatives – from fancy hotels to sandy beaches and from olive groves to medieval castles. Be sure you will consider and check out only the ones you can afford. Falling in love with a place you cannot cover will only make you feel gloomy and unhappy. You don’t really need that!

Tip #2

Not being able to go for the fanciest solutions does not mean you need to compromise. Do not settle for something that you don’t like and do not try to persuade yourself that you will be able to fix things with decorations. You will only end up spending more money and getting overstressed with the shortcomings of the place.

Tip #3

It is imperative to combine your wedding party venue with the ceremony venue. If you are having a religious ceremony, picking a venue that also has a chapel in its premises is ideal. It will save you time and the trouble of planning guests transfers. If you are not having a religious ceremony, when checking out venues you should consider whether there is a perfect spot for your ceremony. In any case, try to eliminate selections that will require your guests to cover a long distance going from one venue to the other.

Tip #4

Make sure you understand what picking a specific venue means in terms of services rendered. Do you need to select your vendors from a restricted list? Do they include in their rental rice basic equipment like tables, chairs, lighting, etc.? Are these items to your liking? Oftentimes, venues present you with a low rental and then cost builds up because so many things are not included or your choices are restricted. If you already know who you want your wedding DJ to be, ensure that you have the right to hire him. If you don’t, then ask to check the preferred vendors list in order to decide if you are willing to work with them and able to pay them. Avoid these traps by requesting an offer that explicitly states what the price includes.

Tip #5

Get into this process with open mind and early on. You may think that getting married on Saturday goes without saying. However, you may want to change your mind, if another day of the week secures your dream wedding at a reduced price? For destination weddings, maybe this choice is even easier to make. Your guests may already consider this trip a vacation. They don’t mind if your wedding is on Thursday!
